Salt Lake City (May 6, 2024) The Smith Entertainment Group has found its future practice facility in the town of Sandy, The SEG released a press release Monday morning announcing the plans to create a 111-acre state-of-the-art practice facility in the area of the Shops of South Town.
This facility will at minimum have two NHL-standard regulation ice surfaces along with locker rooms, a team store, and the official offices for the team. The practice facility will also be open to the community for various youth and amateur hockey ice-time.
The Mayor of Sandy, Monica Zoltanski shared her excitement for the city.
“The city of Sandy could not be more excited to become the new NHL team’s long-term practice facility. We have worked collaboratively with Smith Entertainment Group for many years and are excited about their expanding presence in our community with one of the world’s premier hockey training facilities in our city.”
The construction plans were not immediately shared and the expected date for the practice facility will be for the 2025-2026 NHL season. The SEG is still working with local partners in the community to secure a training facility for this upcoming 2024-2025 season.
