Salt Lake City— The name for the new NHL team in Utah has been narrowed down to six names. The names are Mammoth, Blizzard, Outlaws, Venom, Hockey Club (Utah HC), and Yeti.

Ryan Smith the owner of the Smith Entertainment Group, the Utah Jazz, and the new NHL team in Utah, created a survey from his company Qualtrics for the future name of the team.
The initial survey had 20 names which has now been narrowed down. The second round of voting will be open until June 20.
This announcement comes on the eve of season tickets going on sale this Friday. Season ticket deposit holders were invited to the Delta Center this week for an opportunity to make an informed decision on purchasing seating.

Those that were in attendance were asked to not take any photos or videos. There were some that took to social media to express their frustration with the current seating as well as pricing.

Smith and SEG initially stated that they would be working to decrease the number of obstructed seats, and would be renovating the Delta Center prior to the inaugural opening season.
Next up for Utah is the NHL draft on June 28 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Utah will be selecting their first franchise player with the 6th overall pick.
